In military, utility and recreational environments there is a real, immediate need to stretch the boundaries of access and transferability. These basic needs are left unmet as current solutions such as tracks or multiple wheels provide only a partial solution and are plagued with significant penalties to overall performance.

Galileo Mobility Instruments developed the ideal, all-terrain mobility platform for robots, vehicles, wheelchairs and any instrument that requires wheels or tracks. The Galileo Wheel can automatically change from a wheel to a track and vice versa. Most vehicles and robots that currently operate on tracks do so as a compromise. Wheels would be a better mobility platform most of the time. But, for a short yet critical portion of their intended operation, tracks are essential to achieve their mission. Galileo’s unique, patented technology provides benefits of both wheels and tracks.

“Wheel mode” provides a smooth ride on paved surfaces, energy efficiency, minimal footprint, good maneuverability and high speed driving.

“Track mode” provides excellent traction for overcoming obstacles, the ability to climb stairs, greater towing power and a smooth ride on rough surfaces
