The personal robot market is expected to be so profound, that it will radically alter the way we live our lives day to day. The Japanese Robot Association predicts that by 2025, the personal robot industry will be worth more than $50B, a 10 fold increase from the $5B in 2006. The South Korean Government boldly set a goal for a robot in every home by 2020. Bill Gates says that the emergence of the robotics industry can only be compared with that of the PC industry.

The applications for home robots are numerous, from home security to house maintenance assistance, robotic and automatic toys. Combining swift maneuverability in tight spaces (as in any home), increased battery life and stair climbing ability, Galileo’s unique mobility platform provides an ideal platform for a multi-use home robot.

GMI’s development efforts in this space are currently focused on leveraging its MOOVE platform into several home robot applications. Please contact us for details.
